The National Broadband Network (NBN) is connected to the complex through Fibre to the Building (FTTB). NBN connections within the complex are made through the existing telephone lines.*
For those units which have been connected to the NBN in the past, most internet providers can activate the connection remotely.
For those units which have not been connected to the NBN, a NBN approved technician (arranged by your phone or internet provider) may need to attend and arrange the connection. NBN technicians need only access the phone line panel located on the north wall of the basement car park, to the side of the northern stairwell (see photos above of the panel – with cover removed). There is no communications room in this complex as is the case in some buildings.
Individual apartments within the complex do not have the standard Network Termination Device (NTD) – also known as a connection box.
Arranging NBN connections are a private matter and not something the Building Manger can assist with apart from providing advice if needed.
* Owners can pay for a private NBN fibre optic cable to be installed from the main panel to an individual apartment. This can be expensive and because it involves access to common property must be authorised by the Committee of the Owners Corporation.
