Stage 1 apartments (the non-heritage apartments that make up the majority of the complex) have a common hot water system operating in a similar manner to the hydronic heating – each system typically serves 8 – 12 units.
Stage 2 residents (the heritage apartments on Grattan Place and houses on Grattan Street) have individual electric water heaters.
Turning off hot water for maintenance/renovations?
For most apartments, the isolation valve for hot water at the unit level is in the service panel in the kitchen. The cold water isolation valve is in the carpark. Contact the Building Manager if you need assistance.
Heating and Hot Water project
The Owners Corporation is currently implementing a major project to progressively replace ageing and unreliable gas hot water heaters with modern heat pump systems. These all-electric hot water systems will be complemented by a new solar panel array. Electric hot water supported by solar will make our building services more resilient, is better for the environment, and better on price.
