Bikes

Bike parking is available inside the complex on the ground floor. Some residents also choose to lock their bikes in their car spaces.

Bikes must not be stored on common property other than the bike parking area or in private apartments or car park spaces. Bikes left on common property are tagged, and if not claimed or removed within 28 days will be disposed of by the body corporate.

It is the responsibility of owners and users to ensure their bike is secured appropriately.

It is an unfortunate reality that there are many thieves in and around Carlton. Bikes have been stolen from both the basement and the bike parking area, even when locked.

The Owners Corporation Committee advise residents to use high quality locks, such as steel ‘u-locks’ to secure their bikes, and to lock both wheels. Thieves have been known to remove a single wheel from a locked bike.

The Owners Corporation Committee are working to improve security in the building. Recent works have included reinforcing the pedestrian and carpark entry gates. Residents are encouraged to ensure all gates are properly closed and locked. The Committee is reviewing options to improve the security of the main entrance area.
