Stage 1 apartments (the non-heritage apartments that make up the majority of the complex) have a common hot water service, operating in a similar manner to the hydronic heating – each system typically serves 8 – 12 units.
Stage 2 residents (the heritage apartments on Grattan Place and houses on Grattan Street) have individual electric water heaters.
Turning off hot water for maintenance/renovations?
For most apartments, the isolation valve for hot water at the unit level is in the service panel in the kitchen. The cold water isolation valve is in the carpark. Contact the Building Manager if you need assistance.
2022-2026 Hydronic Heating and Hot Water project project = Solar
Between 2022 and 2026 the Owners Corporation completed a major project to progressively replace ageing and unreliable gas fired hot water systems and old hydronic gas heating units. All gas fired hot water systems serving Stage 1 lots were removed and replaced with electric heat pump systems, supported by solar and batteries. In addition, old hydronic heating units were progressively replaced with more efficient units. The new systems have improved reliability of these common services and significantly reduced energy costs – which benefits all owners in the complex whose combined levies pay for these services..
